Welcome back everybody!
We hope you have all had a fabulous half term break and have been enjoying the sunshine. The weather has been beautiful this week and we have spent lots of time having fun in our gardens. This half term we will be continuing to put activities on our webpage for you each friday so please keep the photos and emails coming in to us. We really enjoy looking at everything you’ve been up to and seeing all your amazing work, so keep it up. We will also be uploading a story each week read by one your teachers. This week it is Mrs Wenban’s turn so click on the following video link to watch her read Oliver’s Fruit Salad.

Previous Weeks Learning Project:
It was an impossible task to choose the winners of ‘The Reading Challenge’ so all of the children, who sent all their entries, will receive a prize when we return to school. Honestly, all of you did so well. The work you sent was awesome! We have made a little Powerpoint so you can see a few of the entries 😊
The main school prize has to go to Amari. Not only did you complete the tasks set but you have demonstrated a positive attitude to Reading which we are so proud of you for. Keep it up! Enjoy the book token! The other prize goes to Nihal for persevering. It is not always easy to keep doing your learning but you have done really well to complete all these Reading tasks- well done. Enjoy the book!
Active fusion who we use in school to support some of our physical development have put together some ideas of activities you can do at home. A link to these activities can be found in the Additional Home Learning Resources section of our website. Please scroll down to find details of where to find this page.
Collective Worship: Drawing Cartoons
The Director of Education for the Diocese of Sheffield has a produced a short video assembly for children to watch and join in with. The link to this assembly can also be found in the Additional Home LearningResources
In addition to the above reading and writing activities we would recommend watching the online Read Write Inc lessons by Ruth Miskin. These lessons can be viewed on You tube and will be shown at the following times and then will be available for 24 hours.
- Set 1 Speed Sounds at 9.30 am
- Set 2 Speed Sounds at 10.00 am
- Set 3 Speed Sounds at 10.30 am
Resources can also be found on ruthmiskin.com We have also updated the phonics page on our school website with more phonic activities.
We use a cursive style handwriting in our school, please try to encourage your child to use this when they are writing at home. A good resource for this is YouTube to see how we do this and also the RWI rhymes. Links to both of these resources can be found on the Handwriting section on our website
Thank you for engaging with our online Maths homework programme. It’s lovely to see all of your photographs and read all of your comments about the fun you’ve had playing the games which are suggested.
When you complete the video and activities you get to change your Mathscot.
CONGRATULATIONS to Oliver, Zack, Elsie, Scarlett, Bridie, Emily, Clara and Nihal who have all achieved ‘Easter Eggsperts’ on maths with Parents. You have completed all the tasks set this term- that is amazing!
Children may well be using the internet more than usual at the moment so it is a good time to remind and emphasise how to keep safe online. CEOP have produced lots of great resources which parents/carers can access on their website: www.thinkyouknow.co.uk
Additional Home Learning Resources
If this is not enough for you, there is also an Additional Home Learning Resources page – you won’t be able to do everything as this is for the whole school, but there are lots of fun activities.
