Welcome to Reception!

Our Teachers are:

  • Mrs Wenban
  • Mrs Barratt
  • Mrs Bennett

Welcome back to the start of a new half term and we hope the children have had a good break.

This half term our topic is called ‘999 What’s the Emergency?’ and we have invited the Fire service, Police service and a Nurse to come into school to talk to us about their jobs and how they help us.

We will also be continuing our work on celebrations and we will be learning about Easter traditions. As part of this learning we will also be finding out about Mother’s Day and so we would like to invite the children’s mums into school on Friday 9th March at 3.00pm for a special afternoon tea, which the children will make for you. We will send you an invitation with further details soon.

Over the last few weeks the children have really enjoyed making Space Rock Cakes and this half term we will also be baking Easter buns, as well as biscuits and cakes for our mums. We would like to thank those of you who have already donated £1.50 baking money towards the cost of the ingredients for these enjoyable activities.

On Thursday 1st March we will be celebrating World Book Day and the children will be able to dress up as their favourite book character and bring their favourite story book to school. We will also be doing lots of activities linked to stories. We are looking forward to seeing your costumes.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Wenban, Mrs Barratt and Mrs Bennett
