Welcome to Reception!

Reception Class Newsletter- Autumn 2

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back to the start of a new and busy half term.  We hope the children have had an enjoyable and safe holiday.

This half term our topic is called ‘What goes bang?’ and we will be looking at events including Bonfire Night and Diwali. This half term is very busy for events school will be taking part in, including Anti-Bulling Week and Children in Need.  We are also going to be preparing for Christmas and have a number of Christmas activities planned.

Dates to remember include:

Monday 12 November- Odd Socks Day for Anti-Bullying Week
Friday 16th November- Pyjama Day for Children In Need (£1 Donation)
Friday 30th November- Christmas Fayre 3:30pm-5pm
Tuesday 11th December – Nursery and Reception Nativity 10am & 2pm
Friday 14th December – Reception Christmas Party

We will send out further details of these events later in the half term.

The children have enjoyed baking last half term and this will be continuing.  We do ask for a donation of £1.50 for the half term to cover the cost of the ingredients and would like to thank you those of you who have already paid for this half term. This money is due each half term, paid directly to Reception class. Unfortunately, if funds are not paid we will have to reconsider how often we bake due to baking costs for each child.

We would also like to thank those of you who have taken the time to contribute to your child’s learning journey either via our email or completing one of the golden stars.  The children are enjoying sharing these moments with us and we are looking forward to hearing more about your children’s achievements out of school.  Our email address is monitored each week so you can send in pictures of your child’s achievements or things they would like to share directly to

Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to seeing you at all of our exciting Christmas events!

Yours sincerely,

Miss Simpkin
