Welcome to Nursery!

Summer 2 Newsletter

Welcome back to our final half term! Our topic this half term is ‘What can you see on the sea?’ and we will be learning about the different creatures that live at the seaside.

We have a busy half term ahead with our Race for life day taking place on the Friday 14th June. Parents are invited to join their child for this event which for morning Nursery will take place at and at for afternoon Nursery.

We will also be holding a Nursery Sports Day on Friday 28th June which parents are invited to attend and join in with various sporty activities with their children for the final hour of the session so the nursery gate will be opened at 10.40am for Morning Nursery and 2.30pm for Afternoon Nursery.

As a celebration of the children’s hard work this year, we will be having a Teddy Bears picnic on Wednesday 17th July. Children are invited to bring in their Teddies into Nursery and we will provide the ingredients for the picnic as the children will be involved with making their own picnics.  However we do ask for a donation of £1 to cover the cost of the picnic food.

Star Moments

This term, we have changed the colour of our stars for the star moments board to green so we are able to put these in your child’s learning journey under the correct time of year. Please bring in a star anytime your child has done something to make you proud, we would like to make the board as full as possible!  We also have a secure Foundation Stage email which you can also use to send us photos or news about your child’s achievements.  The email address is and is regularly monitored by a member of the Foundation Stage staff.

Challenge Books

The children’s Nursery Challenge Books will be sent home again each Friday and to be returned on a Wednesday so these can be marked ready for the following week. Thank you for the responses with these, the children enjoy showing all their friends what they have been up to over the weekend.

Parent Reading Session

Our Parent Reading Sessions will continue every Friday at 11.10am for Morning Nursery and 2:45 for Afternoon Nursery. We will be holding this half terms Parent Activity Session on Wednesday 10thApril, this will take place instead of the reading session on this week.

At least once every half term your child will be baking and we therefore request a small donation of £1.50 towards the cost of the ingredients. Thank you to those Parents who have already paid this contribution.  If your child has any allergies, could you please inform a member of staff as soon as possible, if you haven’t already done so.

Please make sure all you children’s clothing has their name in it.  We would also advise that the children bring a small bag containing a spare set of clothes, just in case we need to change them.
