Welcome to Nursery!

Spring 2 Newsletter

Welcome back to Nursery! Our topic this half term is called Do-you-think-he-saw-us? and we will be finding out about dinosaurs.  Towards the end of the half term we will also be learning about Easter Traditions.

It is World Book Day Thursday 7th March; children are invited to dress up as their favourite character from a book.  We will be sharing lots of stories and talking about our favourite books and characters.

We will also be raising money for comic relief and the children are able to donate £1 and come in non-uniform on Friday 15th March.

We will be holding Parents evening on Thursday 21st March and Monday 25th March for you to come into school to talk to us about your child’s progress.

Star Moments

This term, we have changed the colour of our stars for the star moments board to green so we are able to put these in your child’s learning journey under the correct time of year. Please bring in a star anytime your child has done something to make you proud, we would like to make the board as full as possible!  We also have a secure Foundation Stage email which you can also use to send us photos or news about your child’s achievements.  The email address is and is regularly monitored by a member of the Foundation Stage staff.

Challenge Books

The children’s Nursery Challenge Books will be sent home again each Friday and to be returned on a Wednesday so these can be marked ready for the following week. Thank you for the responses with these, the children enjoy showing all their friends what they have been up to over the weekend.

Parent Reading Session

Our Parent Reading Sessions will continue every Friday at 11.10am for Morning Nursery and 2:45 for Afternoon Nursery. We will be holding this half terms Parent Activity Session on Wednesday 10thApril, this will take place instead of the reading session on this week.

At least once every half term your child will be baking and we therefore request a small donation of £1.50 towards the cost of the ingredients. Thank you to those Parents who have already paid this contribution.  If your child has any allergies, could you please inform a member of staff as soon as possible, if you haven’t already done so.

Please make sure all you children’s clothing has their name in it.  We would also advise that the children bring a small bag containing a spare set of clothes, just in case we need to change them.
