Welcome to Nursery!

Summer 2 Newsletter

Dear Parents/Guardians

Welcome back to our final half term!

Our topic this half term is ‘What makes me shine?’
We will be looking at all the fantastic talents we have and sharing these with our friends. As the weather is getting warmer, can we remind all parents to apply sun cream to children before they arrive in Nursery. Summer hats are also welcomed; please write your child’s name in this to avoid mix ups.

Our star moments board will continue until the end of term so please keep bringing in stars to tell us how proud you are of your children and the things they do at home.

Our sound table will continue from Monday 11th June with the initial sound ‘c/k’. Please support your child in finding an object beginning with ‘c/k’, this will help them with their phonics in Nursery.

Challenge books will be sent home each Friday; please can you ensure these are returned by Monday ready for the next challenge to be added.

Our Parent reading sessions will continue every Friday at 11am for Morning Nursery and 2:45pm for Afternoon Nursery.

At least once every half term your child will be baking and we therefore request a small donation of £1.50 towards the cost of the ingredients; this money is due at the start of every half term. If your child has any allergies, could you please inform a member of staff as soon as possible, if you haven’t already done so.

We have a busy half term ahead with our Nursery Sports day taking place on the Tuesday 26th June. Parents are invited to join their child for an hour at the end of the session, supporting them in the sports day activities. Morning Nursery parents are invited back to sports day via the Nursery gate at 10:40am and Afternoon Nursery parents at 2:15pm. You are then welcome to take your child home with you once the sports day has finished.

As a celebration of the children’s hard work this year, we will be having an end of term Superhero and Princess Party on Thursday 12th July. Children are invited to arrive to Nursery dressed up as a superhero or princess of their choice and we will have lots of party games throughout the session. We do ask for a £1 donation on the day to ensure we can hire items to make the party as special and memorable as possible.

We would like to thank everyone for your cooperation with the Foundation Stage Wedding last half term. The event would not have taken place without your support and the children had a fantastic day!

Thank you for your continued support and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Please also look at our curriculum page for further information.
