Visit from the new Bishop of Sheffield.
On Tuesday we were fortunate to have a visit from the new Bishop of Sheffield, Bishop Pete Wilcox. He is currently undertaking a 50 mile walk around the region, finishing on Friday in Sheffield and he will be welcomed as our new bishop with a service on Saturday in Sheffield Cathedral. As part of his ‘walkabout’ he came to visit us and lead a short service for the children and staff in church. Our school was lucky to be on his itinerary, as one of only a few schools that he was able to visit in this important week for him. As part of his walkabout he is using social media such as ‘Twitter’ to let people know what he is up to and has included his visit to The Church of the Good Shepherd and meeting the children in this.
The Daily Mile
Our Daily Mile is now well established and we are delighted with the children’s response to this. It is a pleasure to see all the children walking or running and being active at break time as well as being able to have a chat with their friends as they go. We have also noticed the positive impact on their learning behavior when they return to the classroom after the break, more energized and ready for learning.
Well done children– keep it up!
