We are getting towards the time of year when children start to pick up coughs, colds and general illnesses.
Where children are able to, even if they feel a little ‘ under the weather’ they should continue to attend school as normal. However, if they are genuinely too poorly to come to school we would like to remind all parents/carers that they need to ring the school to report their child’s illness on the morning of their first day of absence and each subsequent day until their child is fit to return to school. If we do not get a phone call to give us the reason for an absence we then have to follow our safeguarding procedures and contact parent/carers to determine the reason for absence. It is not sufficient for a sibling in school to report a child’s absence. This has to be confirmed by the parent/carer.
Thank you for your support.
Many thanks to all those parents who have booked appointments for parents evening using our new system. We hope that you found it straight forward to use or that you were able to book an appointment through the school office if you were unable to access the system.
To date, we have had a very positive response from parents regarding this system. However, if you have an opinion about it that you would like to share please speak to Mrs Navas or the office staff. We introduced the electronic booking system on a trial basis. If the general feedback received continues to be positive we will use the system for booking all future parents evening appointments.
