Anti Bullying Week
This week has been anti-bullying week. The theme for the week was ‘Change starts with us’. During the week children have explored a wide range of anti-bullying ideas in classes and assemblies. Odd Socks Day reminded children that it’s OK to be different and that we should celebrate and support diversity in our school family and community. We will be creating a display of children’s work across the school and regularly come back to this topic throughout the school year.
Children In Need Day
It has been great to see all the children in their pyjamas today, raising money for Children in Need.
Thanks to all who have also helped us to get ready for our shoe box appeal by wrapping boxes and donating either filled boxes or items to go into boxes. These have been filled over the course of the afternoon ready to be sent to the depot for processing and shipping of to children across the world who would otherwise not get a gift at all this Christmas.
You may be aware that we have set up a gardening club in school, which runs over lunchtimes. Mrs Hewitt leads some volunteers in helping the children to learn about gardening, which helps our environment and is also good for personal well being. We have big plans to develop our school site over the year, with additions of different plants, planters and areas where children can be involved and also where they can sit and be quiet.
Many thanks to Danum Developments, who have so kindly donated £100 towards this project. Thanks also to Mrs Hewitt and the team for so eagerly sharing their gardening expertise with us all in school.
Our Christmas Fair is coming up fast! It will be on Friday 29th November at 3:30 until 5pm. If you can donate any items for the tombola please send them into school. In addition, any help in the preparation of items or on the day would be greatly appreciated. Please speak to the chair of the PTA, Mrs Whittaker, or she can be contacted via the school office.
