Many thanks to everyone who attended our Christmas Fair on Friday. We hope that you enjoyed it. As soon as we have a final total raised we will let you know. All the profit will go to funding additional resources for the benefit of all the children in our school.
It would be impossible to run an event such as the fair without the fantastic support that we get from a small group of volunteers who are on the Friends of Canon Popham PTA. They worked so hard over a number of weeks , and especially on the day, setting up and clearing away afterwards. As we always say, many hands makes light work so if you know of anyone who would be willing to join please contact the school office who will pass on the details to Mrs Whittaker, who is the chair of the PTA.
We would also like to thank Rev. Steve Beck who allowed us to use the church in order to provide additional space.
It’s a nativity!
Next week will see the start of our nativity play/ carol services. Everyone should have received the information about the days and times of these events, which was on diary dates that were issued in September. The children and staff have worked really hard to prepare them for you and we are looking forward to sharing their work with you.
Can I please remind parents who have very young children that there is a crèche available for the afternoon performances for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2? This will be run by school staff and you will need to let us know if you would like your child to be included in this. We provide this facility so that the performance can be an enjoyable occasion for everyone who attends and not interrupted by any noise or disruption from smaller children. We will be requesting that if parents choose not to take advantage of the crèche facility and their child becomes unsettled during the performance that they be taken out.
Breakfast Club and School Dinners
If your child is attending Breakfast club or having a school lunch we would like to remind you that this needs to be paid for IN ADVANCE.
School Christmas Dinner
CAN YOU PLEASE ENSURE THAT IF YOUR CHILD USUALLY HAS A PACKED LUNCH BUT IS ATTENDING THE SCHOOL CHRISTMAS DINNER THIS IS PAID FOR IN ADVANCE USING PARENT PAY.
It takes a great deal of time to chase payments at what is already an extremely busy period of time for the office staff, so if you could help us by ensuring you have paid in advance this would be much appreciated.
