Visit from the Department for Education
As you know, on Monday a small crew from the DfE came to school and spent time in some of our classrooms and speaking to staff about the curriculum. They had made contact with us because we are early adopters of some key curriculum work. They said that they were really impressed with the work that the children were engaged in and a short media clip has been posted on the DfE site. It is also available for you to see on the school website.
This has had 10,000 views and lots of really positive comments!
Children’s Mental Health Week
This week has been National Children’s Mental Health Week. Over the week we have been working across the school with children to develop their understanding, through stories and discussion about the importance of being mentally healthy as well as physically healthy. Each year group has previously done some work on ‘stress buckets’ and what they can do to help themselves to stay calm. If you are interested , please feel welcome to have a look at the display in our entrance that reflects some of the children’s learning.
Year 4 have shared their class assembly with parents about this important topic.
If you have any concerns about your child’s wellbeing please feel welcome to speak to us in confidence. We are here to help!
Our Number Day is in aid of the NSPCC. This finishes off our week in a special way and we would like to thank everyone who has come to school wearing a number! The money raised will support children and families who the NSPCC are working with.
