Canon Popham’s Got Talent!

It was wonderful to see a packed hall last Friday evening where we celebrated the talents of the children. There were 26 acts who performed for everyone. Talents included joke telling, singing, dancing, gymnastics, hover-boarding  and instrument playing. Our school choir also performed and Makaton signed ‘A thousand years’.

It was a really difficult decision for the three judges to narrow it down to the final three. They were:

Devon Hopgood-Harris, singing

Violet Sedewick, Amelia-Grace Lee, Amelia Barratt and Lily Whittaker– dancing

Sam Wood, supported by  his brother Jack– dancing.

The winner was voted for by the audience, once again a difficult choice as all three performed so well.

Our overall winner this year was Sam Wood, who performed an amazing routine—Ten Decades of Dance– which included styles of dance from every decade, 1920’s to the present day. His routine involved a number of on stage costume changes, slickly supported by Jack.

Our whole show was compered very confidently by Logan Jones and Felicity Ali, who kept it running very smoothly and also entertained the audience with their banter. Future stars in the making!

A massive WELL DONE to all who took part or entered the audition phase of this years show. You were all fabulous. Also, a huge thank you to Mrs Barratt and the staff who organized and ran this event, and to the parent volunteers who supported it.

It raised a grand total of £850

Race for Life

Year 6 transition to Hungerhill.

Our Year 6 children attended Hungerhill school for their 3 day transition visits this week. The feedback that we have had is that they did themselves proud and made a great start to their secondary school education.

Well done year 6! Now lets look forward to your final few weeks of primary school and preparing for your end of Year 6 performance for parents.
